Despite the recent inception of virtual realities and the illusory virtual realities of city life, there is no life without land.  Until fairly recent times, all food, clothing and shelter was drawn directly from the land by foraging, farming, keeping livestock, hunting, fishing, and the extraction of stone and wood.  Although these activities have lost their central role in our subsistence, they almost all continue in an attenuated form at Franklin Chthonics.  Maintaining and developing these kinds of relationships to the land is a basic theme of Franklin Chthonics.
