Walkabout is a kind of scavenger hunt, but one in which the players do not know what exactly they are looking for until they have finished looking. Walkabout is a game that is used to orient new arrivals at Franklin Chthonics to the main points of interest and activity of the core areas of the property. Individuals or small teams of players walk a marked trail salted with objects and tableaux of items arranged at different points along the way. These include many red herrings that draw attention but which are irrelevant to the hunt. After completing the walk, a player or team is given a tricky multiple-choice questionnaire asking about the presence or absence along the course of specific objects, sounds and even smells. Was there a pickaxe? Did the monkey toy have blue or brown eyes?
